Secondary cataract membrane removal.

During modern cataract surgery, a small membrane is left in the eye to hold the IOL (Intraocular lens implant).

In approximately 20% (or 1 out of 5) cases this membrane, which starts off clear like plastic wrap, can cloud over and become wax paper like.  This is called a secondary cataract or membrane.

Using modern YAG Capsulotomy lasers this can be removed to restore vision to the clarity before the membrane clouded over.
