The Slit Lamp Examination is a microscope with a light attached that allows the doctor to examine your eye under high magnification.

The instrument is used to view the cornea, iris, lens, and sometimes it is used to examine the vitreous, retina, and the optic nerve.

The exam is painless and takes just a minute or two. You simply hold your head stationary as te Slit Lamp passes light across your eye as the doctor watches through the microscope eye-piece.

Trust your eyes to Lehigh Valley Center for Sight.
