Choosing new glasses isn’t always as simple as it seems. You want something comfortable, flattering, and ideally not the same style you’ve been wearing since 2009.

Trying to figure out what style looks best on you can be so difficult. Like, "Do I look chic or ten years older?" Wanting that unique pop from your glasses is totally normal. But the truth is, your glasses should make you feel like you! Just a bit clearer, sharper, and maybe even a little bit cooler.

Here’s our guide to finding the perfect pair that fits your face, your lifestyle, and your personal flair.

Face Shape 101 (But Not the Only Rule)

Oval Face: You can wear almost any style! Try square, rectangular, or cat-eye frames to add structure.

Round Face: Go for angular frames like rectangular or square styles to create definition. Avoid round frames if you want to lengthen the face.

Square Face: Try round or oval frames to soften sharp angles. Thinner, lighter frames can look especially elegant.

Heart-Shaped Face: Balance a wider forehead with bottom-heavy frames, like aviators or other rounded styles.

But remember: the “rules” are just guidelines. The right frame is the one that makes you feel like your best self.

Let’s Talk Color

Don’t be afraid to branch out from basic black or brown... color can lift your whole look and make your eyes pop. For the best complementary colors, try pairing with your skin tone:

  • Warm Skin Tones: Try tortoiseshell, warm reds, copper, or even olive green.

  • Cool Skin Tones: Look for blues, grays, soft pinks, or plum tones.

  • Neutral Hair (Gray, Black, etc.) Bonus: You can rock bold colors like red, navy, or deep jewel tones to contrast beautifully.

Neutral tones are still fabulous, but the right splash of color can brighten your face amazingly.

Match Your Style (Not Just Your Face)

Think of glasses like your favorite accessory. Would you wear the same shoes to the gym and a wedding? Probably not. So consider:

  • Classic & Refined? Try a clean rectangular frame in black, bronze, or navy.

  • Creative or Bold? Go for color, patterns, or a funky shape like cat-eye, geometric, or layered acetate styles.

  • Minimalist? Rimless or thin metal frames offer subtle sophistication.

  • Sporty or On-the-Go? Lightweight, durable styles with flexible hinges are key.

If you’re someone who wears glasses all the time, think of them as part of your signature look... an extension of your personality!

Remember:

The right glasses don’t just help you see better; they help you show up as your best self.
